I primarily use my smartphone as a form of communication, keeping up with social media, and finally responding to fire calls. Most of the time I use my phone is to make a call, send an email or text, or FaceTime someone when I have something I need to tell them or when I have a question. Some of my friends and family live a good distance away from where I reside, so one of the easiest ways to keep up with what’s happening in their lives is social media. Facebook, Instagram, and SnapChat is the main apps I use to do this. The last thing I use my smartphone for is the fire service. Most of the fire calls we get come through on my phone. The app is called “Active911" and it shows us what’s going on, where it’s located, and finally how many personnel is responding. Roughly I spend 3 hours on my phone a day and I’ll probably check my phone around 25 times a day, depending on what’s going on.
